Founded and directed by local musician Kelly Takunda Orphan Martinez for the past 9 years, What’s Goin’ On offers daily drum, dance, singing, creative movement, and visual art with a group of diverse kids from throughout the East Bay. Each morning, kids take music, dance, and art classes in small groups and choose electives in the afternoon.
What makes What’s Goin’ On a unique summer program? All of the teachers are artists themselves and have at least 10 years of teaching experience. Students will study music with Kelly herself, dance with Masankho Banda, percussion with Tacuma King, and others.
The next What's Goin On Camp begins June 21, 2010. For more details about the What's Goin' On Camp, please visit their website.
