Designed and led by Glitter & Razz co-founder, Allison Kenny, an expert in expressive arts and dramatic play with young children, the Itty Bitty Program is a chance for children ages 4-6 to shine as individuals within a peaceful community as they make magic messes, move & groove, and share their stories with a loving audience.
Through the exploration of a particular theme, students are supported to engage in creative activities that build imagination, relaxation, cooperation and problem solving skills. Clear structure, rituals and the magic and power of play ensure that even shy children feel safe to express feelings and ideas in this creative environment.
The Itty Bitty Program is made up of:
- Itty Bitty Arts Camps - Week-long summer camps for 4-6 year olds
- Itty Bitty Theater Workshops - Afterschool expressive arts classes centered around the creation and performance of original plays
In the Itty Bitty Program, children will:
- Connect in a community circle and learn how to share their stories, ideas, hopes, and opinions while listening to and respecting others
- Practice cooperation and listening skills through story sharing
- Be celebrated for their achievements and uniqueness while also supported to grow and take on new challenges
- Play dance and drama games that allow them to both be part of a group as well as stand out from the crowd
- Develop body awareness, locomotor, non-locomotor and balance through creative movement.
- Develop their individual creativity through open-ended visual art projects
- Use their bodies, voices, and imaginations to explore new worlds, ideas and characters.
