Founders, Lynn Johnson and Allison Kenny, had been teaching and creating theater with and for communities in different parts of the country for 10 years before they met in 2002. That summer, they met while both teaching drama for a summer program in Marin. In addition to falling in love with each other, they also discovered their shared philosophy of the magic and power or theater for personal development and social change. They decided to turn their ideas into a business that would support children, empower their families, and make a difference in the community.
Glitter & Razz began life as a once a year summer camp at the Marsh Youth Theater in San Francisco (2003-2006). They moved to the East Bay officially and established Glitter & Razz as a business in 2006 when they had the opportunity to spend time in residency at the Julia Morgan Center for the Arts in Berkeley. They moved to their current location, the Glitter & Razz Dramatic Play Space, in September of 2007.
Lynn and Allison live in Oakland with their dogs, Roxie & Rufus. They were legally married in August 2008.
